** Typhon was a most annoying boss fight, really poorly designed as it just takes a lot of time and no skill, just need decent gear. If anyone has the same problem, I downloaded it from here and it works just fine: I'm certainly not going to play through act 1-3 on normal again, nor did I have any intention to do Typhon** all over again which would be an annoying waste of time so the Defiler tool was the most efficient option. Since I already beat Typhon, that doesn't count as cheating as Rhodes is the direct next point after Typhon is done.

Thanks and +1 for the replies everybody, it seems there aren't really any efficient options at all without modding so I finally decided to just install the Defiler mod, I didn't want to use it initially but I installed it just now to open the Rhodes portal. If nothing else, the portal method should save you much time and frustration. Feel free to try the 'alternate' methods described there that would supposedly allow you to skip directly to the part you want, and do let me know if they work. Here's a link to my own thread on the Steam forums. Luckily for you, I managed to get around it, more or less.

Worst case, just play through the game again with a different character, or just play through 'epic' and then start the expansion chapter. I seem to remember when I first played TQ, I also did a playthrough through the base game, then started up the expansion and imported my character. Unfortunately, I played Act 1-3 in the regular game and didn't realize I should have played those acts via Immortal Throne from the get-go. Awalterj: I just finished Titan Quest on normal difficulty and would like to play the 4th act from Immortal Throne, on normal difficulty as well.
